1689 Pink Gin wins Silver at London’s prestigious DB&SB blind tasting.

Amsterdam-based Gin 1689 won silver at a prestigious Spring Tasting in London with its 1689 Pink Gin, the first Dutch Pink Gin, which launched in Holland 2 years ago.

Two industry giants, Drinks Business & The Spirits Business, collaborated for The DB & SB Autumn Blind Tasting in a drive to find and reward the best drinks brands on the world stage. Chaired by The Drinks Business’ Editor-in-Chief, Patrick Schmitt MW; and The Spirits Business’, Melita Kiely, and assessed by a panel of leading industry experts, including Master Sommeliers, Masters of Wine, senior buyers and leading mixologists; entries were judged blind to discover this autumn’s best brands on the world stage.

The DB & SB Spring Tasting 2022, in only it's 2nd year; was even more competitive than last year and therefore was very well represented with 137 entries (up 30% on 2021) from 61 different companies (up 22% on 2021). It is therefore a great achievement to receive this award.

Gin 1689 founder, Alexander Janssens comments: ‘for Gin 1689 to receive the Silver medal from our single entry and from within a very competitive field, is a fantastic achievement! Massive Congratulations to the whole team and a very proud moment for all of us.’

The award winning 1689 Pink Gin and the 1689 Dutch Dry Gin are available and being enjoyed in more than 20+ countries globally.
