This milestone marks a significant expansion for Gin 1689, offering travelers a taste of Dutch heritage as they journey between France and the UK. With over 10 million passengers passing through Eurotunnel annually, the brand’s presence at Duty Free Calais opens the door to a new wave of gin lovers seeking premium, historically rooted spirits.

Gin 1689 is crafted from a recipe dating back from the time of the coronation of Dutch King William of Orange in 1689 who started the gin craze. Distilled in Holland, it features bold juniper notes balanced with nutmeg, clove, and dried quince—offering a regal twist on the classic dry gin.
The launch includes both the Dutch Dry Gin and the Pink Gin, known for its smooth berry infusion and elegant finish.
Eurotunnel Duty Free in Calais marks the second major Travel Retail listing for Gin 1689, following its successful 2024 launch at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport—one of Europe’s busiest international hubs.
